Company Turnaround vs. Reorganization Success Strategies
In the complex landscape of corporate challenges, terms like ‘turnaround management‘ and ‘reorganization’ or restructuring are often tossed around ambiguously, leading to confusion and, at times, directing individuals to less-than-reputable resources. A more focused approach is needed to understand these critical concepts.

Understanding Turnaround: A Non-Optional Path
Turnaround isn’t merely an option; it’s a definitive path a corporation takes when it hits a dead end. This critical juncture is reached when a company’s leadership finds itself bereft of viable solutions for generating cash flow, overwhelmed by outstanding bills, and devoid of prospects for loans—or worse, considering loans from precarious sources. Turnaround signifies a pivotal moment of truth, a time for decisive action when traditional strategies falter.
The Choice of Reorganization
Contrastingly, reorganization presents itself as an option, often a strategic one. Companies may face hurdles that necessitate a fresh approach, be it legal restructuring, revamping business accounting, or enhancing quality control. These challenges, if not addressed with insight and precision, could spiral into a situation warranting a turnaround. Reorganization encompasses a range of scenarios, each demanding a tailored response. But it’s crucial to recognize that when both reorganization and turnaround become necessary, the stakes are exceedingly high.
Navigating these treacherous waters requires more than just business acumen; it demands resilience, adaptability, and often, external guidance. As these paths unfold, remember, that the choices made today will shape the corporate legacy of tomorrow. Call me anytime day or night (760) 662-9668

"You know, I think if you were to ask every single CEO that has ever worked with Patrick Rettig, they will tell you the same thing. When Pat enters into your life, it is at that precise moment that you are heading into catastrophic (business) failure, whether you know it or not. So for me, I actually didn't know that it was gonna be happening in a matter of months. Uh, but I was at a point in my business where I just was, just felt at a standstill. I just felt like I couldn't push it forward to get it more successful and all. And I was at the end of a 30-year marriage, I was exhausted and feeling hopeless. And so out of that desperation, I, out of 25 years of being an atheist, started to pray and within one month, Pat showed up in a very unusual way, so that was the beginning. You know, in our lifetime, it's rare to find a true, authentically. And Patrick is one, he has no agenda other than working on business turnaround, keeping your company and yourself, your family healthy period. And he is not a nine-to-five, he's a 24 7. I mean, for the 13 years that I've worked with him, he's always been there when I needed him. And he is fun. He's very, you know, he is serious. He's, you know, he pushes you. I mean, it's not that it's easy, but it's, it's also, it's also really fun the whole process. It's like, it's like the most amazing business school that you can be in. And you get to like, use it all immediately, and then you can clearly see as you're working, you know, when you're doing the things right, you see the yield. When you fall off, you see, you know, that, that yield. So, uh, it's pretty incredible."

"I was desperate, uh, looking for help. Uh, I go literally Googled bankruptcy, chapter 11 attorneys. Uh, I met with an attorney who said he'd give me a free consultation, and he said, well, I can't help you. You need to call this guy.
He handed me the phone number of another attorney. He says, I don't even know if he's still around, but call this guy. So I called this guy up. His name was Steve Fox, and I met with Steve he said, "you need somebody to guide you through this (business turnaround)..." He says, here, Patrick Rettig. So I got in my truck after meeting with Steve. I called Patrick and he said, okay, we need a 30-year relationship in 30 minutes, start talking.
I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without the influence of the Rettig Corp. I was desperate. I knew I needed help. I know I needed, uh, somebody to help me. I can build anything. You gimme a set of plans, and I can build it, but I know it was lacking on the business finance management side and keeping things in order and keeping an eye on everything that needs to be kept an eye on in the business.
And what, uh, the Rettig Corp has brought is a set of eyes on all, I'll say the necessary evils of business. And so that I can, I can get out and build and do what I love to do every day. "

Steven R. Fox – Bankruptcy Attorney, Fox Law
Patrick and I met when I was hired to reorganize a company, a high-end advertising company in Hollywood.
I was in a large conference room with a whole bunch of suits, and he was sitting off to the side on a couch in blue jeans, black t-shirt, long hair out of everyone on the room.
He was the only one who knew what was going on, why the company failed, how to fix it, how to make things better. So he was the guy I keyed into.
What I learned from him was something that I had been looking for, which was why did my companies have confirmed plans and then fail?
And the answer was that as bankruptcy lawyers, we were confirming plans, but we weren't fixing the companies. With Patrick, I can, whether it's inside or outside of a bankruptcy, I can fix a company.
And that's important.
Patrick is unique because Patrick is not of this world.
Um, he is unlike, he really is unlike anyone you've ever met.
He really is. Uh, I tell clients when they're first coming on board to buckle up because there will never be another relationship like this.
When people are in this situation, they're so lost and they're so alone and scared and isolated and ashamed.
And when Patrick comes on the scene, he is the light. You know, he, he shows them the way and, and everybody recognizes that.
They recognize it right away. And when, when your, when your ship is sinking, you know, you know when somebody knows how to turn it around you, you want to be, uh, you know, I wanna go with that guy. That's, yeah, that's why he's unique.
Initially, you know, Patrick was, was hired to, you know, come in and just, you know, take over our finances and our books and then really kind of make sure to get us in the right direction as a company. But we connected on a whole nother level.
You know, I'm a, I'm an entrepreneur, I have multiple businesses and I have a passion to start other businesses, and I also do coaching and mentoring as well.
So I mentor and coach other companies in my space all over the country. And, and Pat and I just connected on a whole different level. And, uh, to this day, I mean, every business decision, every, you know, business that we're, that we're either investing in or starting or growing, you know, he and I connect on just about everything we do and from a business perspective.
